"Sharing food with another human being is an intimate Awww, Valentine's Day. I can't actually remmeber a proper Valentine's Day since this recent one. The reality is that I am usually working and don’t make the time to go out and do stuff, yet alone try to organize events with other people outside of work. Writing this has made me realize I should probably look at changing fields and leaving the services sector. However...I digress. If you’re looking for options this Valentine's Day and happen to be in the Lake District in England, might I suggest Fellinis. There are two main vegetarian restaurants in Ambleside in the Lake District, one that is more of a Jazz bar and the other that is just fine dining. My partner and I opted for the dinner service at Fellinis since we didn’t really fancy a show and just wanted to enjoy each other’s company whilst chatting about our time in the Lake District. Anyone who’s been to the Lake District knows there are a variety of things to do, ranging from visiting the Beatrix Potter (Peter Rabbit) Museum, enjoying the gorgeous lake views, or taking leisurely walks in the surrounding the area. I’d definitely recommend the Lake District to anyone who has never been. "Fellinis is a modern 'Vegeterranean' restaurant catering for the most discerning palate with a distinct Mediterranean twist. Above the restaurant a state of the art digital cinema shows the latest arthouse and niche film productions with live satellite links to world class events of Opera, Ballet and Theatre" ![]() Basically, this place is a vegetarian's dream as there are no worries about cross contamination with meat since it is solely a vegetarian restaurant. Throughout our 3-course meal each plate was exquisitely crafted for our vegetarian needs which complimented well with our wine. The best part was how reasonably priced the overall experience was and how amazingly attentive the wait staff were. As the plates were brought to the table I was amazed at how beautifully they were presented and I almost didn’t want to eat them; so I took pictures for memory. However, I did cave and every bite was an explosion of flavour in the mouth. As the night slowly drew to a close and the restaurant's patrons departed, we found ourselves still with wine leftover. In order to be polite, we were going to leave our drink; however, we were pleasantly surprised when the wait staff insisted that we take our time and enjoy our wine.
No matter your party size, if it’s a table for two or a larger group, you can’t go wrong with this vegetarian restaurant and I would definitely recommend Fellinis. Fellinis is truly a first class restaurant, with amazing service, great food, and all for reasonable price.
